Programs

AULYP is long established as a leader in the Atlanta area for programs and initiatives that empower the community. More information on annual and ongoing programs is below.

NULYP National Day of Service

AULYP has participated in the National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP) National Day of Service for the last four years, providing financial education seminars to teens in Atlanta Public Schools during 2006-2008. AULYP partners with Atlanta Public Schools, local churches and community centers for this program, to facilitate middle and high school students.

Super Saturday – A Day of Political Awareness

AULYP first hosted this event in 2006 to educate aspiring leaders and constituents on how to better align themselves with the political landscape. Legislators and community activists from all over the metropolitan area volunteered time and other resources to providing tips on communicating with elected officials and constituents, fundraising, and pitching the media.

Black Executive Exchange Program (BEEP)

BEEP is the National Urban League’s preferred method of placing young professionals and HBCU students together in hopes of creating mentor/mentee relationships. Young professionals, or BEEPers, act as visiting professors in classroom environments with students on line to graduate within 2 years.
For more information on BEEP, visit the National Urban League’s site at www.nulbeep.org.

NULITES: National Urban League Incentives To Excel & Succeed

AULYP is responsible for the development of an organization for, by and of youth. The chapter is operated by Atlanta area youth and supervised by the young professionals, to ensure children are grooming into leaders of tomorrow. They will discuss issues, solve problems and participate in community service alongside and/or separate of the young professionals.

To become a NULITER, the young person must be a full-time student or participant in an Urban League youth program. He/She must maintain good grades in school and be in good standing in the youth program. NULITERS range in age from 12-18, depending on the age group of the local affiliate’s NULITES chapter.
NULITES will kick off in Atlanta in late spring. Download the NULITES Student Application.
