Our members helped us reach new heights in 2009 and the past year’s accomplishments are overwhelming!  Since January we have revamped our website, hosted one of our largest Personal and Professional Development meetings to date and raised funds to support the March of Dimes, all while continuing to network and socialize. This year we welcomed back our Dream Catchers’ Award Reception with great success and also added a new signature program, Entrepreneur Bootcamp. Our members and their accomplishments have been recognized by organizations such as Leadership Atlanta, Outstanding Atlanta, and Heineken USA. After welcoming a new CEO, Nancy Flake-Johnson, into our affiliate we have continued to build upon and enhance our supportive relationship with the Atlanta Urban League. With all of these successes in 2009 to build upon, 2010 will offer even more opportunities and accomplishments for the organization and its membership.

So what can we look forward to in 2010? First, we plan to improve upon all of our signature programs. You can look forward to Dream Catchers, Entrepreneur Bootcamp, National Day of Service, Super Saturday, and Mingle N Serve being bigger and better this year. We also hope to add innovative programming that will enrich the lives of our members both personally and professionally. Plus, we are going to add new programs and events such as the Nulites, Founders Month, Town Hall Meetings, our first day trip, and more! As president, I couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come for AULYP and I hope you are too! So invite your friends and colleagues to join you in Atlanta’s premier networking organization and help us make 2010 another great year for AULYP.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Active, paid membership for three months
• Participation in one community service event
• Membership in one committee

The nomination period will remain open through the October meeting, when candidates will deliver a short stump speech to the general body. Self-nominations are preferred. Any member nominating another member must inform the person being nominated, and that nomination must be accepted.

Committee chairpersons lead the programs and activities that AULYP delivers to the community. They serve 12-month terms and possess full voting privileges during AULYP Executive Committee meetings. Chairs manage budgets, convene monthly meetings, plan events and report to the Executive Committee on their activities, among other responsibilities.

All members with current paid dues are eligible to vote in AULYP elections.

All interested parties should forward a nomination letter with a short biography and picture to parliamentarian@aulyp.com. Please include “ELECTIONS: Your Name” in the subject line.
